Lürzer's Archive’s 200 Best Photographers

Thrilled and honored to say I have been named one of Lürzer's Archives 200 Best Photographers Worldwide this year!

I am humbled to be listed along side so many incredible photographers and in such an inspiring publication.

Shooting in a place with no light has its challenges. Photographing a few hundred feet below ground, in a loud, dusty, and at the same time wet uranium mine for Tingley Rubber, I was switching between using strobes and cranking that ISO to shoot with only headlamps.

I love the shots with the strobes; they are crisp and look cool, but they didn't capture an authentic view of this type of mining. There were little to no worklights down there; the only light these guys work by is the ones on their heads and the headlights of minecarts and the gators.

In an ideal world, we all shoot for technical perfection and authentic moments, but not every shoot is in a perfect setting.
